Welcome visiting friends

This website offers you with writings that have been developing over more than half a century and that -although have been published in various conditions- look closely related like parts of one puzzle open with no limits in the future.

The texts start with economic development, continue to the map of the prevailing world order, and go back to the mankind -the real worker, actor, and aim of the entire development.

Do I claim to have imagined this process at a privileged moment of my thoughts? The ruse of the reality has been -without doubt- the most effective factor in driving me into this route.

Our task, today

During the last century, industrialized countries achieved revolutionary scientific performances that produced dazzling prosperity and put at their disposal a power that defies imagination and enables them to do everything, absolutely; convert «the dream into reality», as says the poet.

But it also resulted -for these countries and the world at large- in enormous problems for which a radical solution was necessary to complete the "modern revolution".

The "lords of the world", however, turned a deaf ear believing that by technology, coercion, social discourse, and even by conditioning of beings and sciences they can keep the world under their control. Also, the power that was growing exponentially dominated by far the reason -the sole measure of things- which was bound to the fate of Prometheus of the old legend. Consequently, problems were getting aggravated and they expose humanity today to fatal dangers. Where is therefore the spirit of the Enlightenment, "major", "self-governance" which dares to think and act in absolute freedom? The modern Faust, obsessed by his grandiose project, can do it?

Yes, a major crisis is raging in the heart of the modern civilization. Bestiality, brutality, suffering, anguish, and horror are gaining ground everywhere; and humans -forced to the wall- are shackled by all kinds of bondage. Yes, the cauldron is boiling everywhere, especially in our Arabian and Middle Eastern region -subject to unspeakable atrocities. "Signs of the times"? "Creative chaos"? Violence bringing forth progress?

Plenty of works -often of a high quality- appeared around the end of the past millennium questioning the modernity itself -the beacon and pride of the West. Is it then necessary to impede it or -on the contrary- to complete it?

Here -as always in major crises- arises the troubling question: Where are we going? What to do? What is the alternative?

The "lords of the world", mentioned above, announce to us with full assurance their arrogant prophecy: No alternative actual, no alternative possible. It looks like that indeed. But we know that the cunning of history has often contradicted such quietude. It tells us -as observed eminent wits- that «the necessary is absolutely different from both» (Kierkegaard). This necessary which is knocking on our doors; isn't it our great task -men of this 21st century- to help it, resolutely, to come into existence with the least suffering possible?
